If you are looking for a different and intense tour in the Amazon, this is the rainforest peru tours. We will take you off of the tourist places and traditions, to bamboo forests, macaw parrots, the remote wild jungle, and much more to see in private. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 5 am in our private minivan for the long trip to Bamboo Lodge. During 9 hours we will pass through valleys, majestic mountains, and picturesque villages, making stops along the way: Breakfast at the colonial town of Paucartambo.
Then we will continue up to the mirador Acjanaco at 4,000 meters above sea level where the Manu Biosphere begins. From there we will descend through the cloud forest to one of the most biodiverse areas in the world. Where we will take a short hike to observe some birds like the cock of the rock, tanagers, toucans, hummingbirds, trogons, quetzals, monkeys, trees, ferns, mosses, orchids, and lichens.
Finally, we will spend the night in Bamboo Lodge 700 meters above sea level.
After a fine breakfast, we will travel in our minivan through the tropical forest down road. Making stops to see the local plantations of pineapple, papaya, and the famous coca.
We will continue to the Port of Atalaya town 600 masl to do last minute shopping before boarding our motorboat, which will take us for a 2 hour trip up the river, we will stop to walk and visit Machuwasi lake, a small lagoon which we will explore in rafts to see astonishing birds such as the prehistoric hoatzin (Opinthocomus hoatzin), and with luck, we may see a capybara or caiman. Then we will continue our trip up the river in our boat to the Manu Rainforest Peru lodge.
Where we will spend the night in a camouflaged lodge to see the nocturnal animals that come to feed on bamboo and wild fruits.
At 5 a.m. M. We head to the Colpa de Toros and with good weather we will experience a surprising phenomenon: tens and hundreds of parakeets, parrots, and macaws descend on the clay-rich in nutrients creating a spectacle of color and sound that you will never forget.
we will also see monkeys, toucans, and flocks of birds that visit the shore of the river. We will stay there for an hour and a half watching all of that wonderful activity.
After breakfast, we will embark on a beautiful hike through the pristine forest in search of more wildlife and plants that surround it. After a typical lunch, we will float in tractor tires by the Palotoa river surrounded by forests and monkeys. Then we will go to our comfortable Rainforest Peru tours Lodge with showers.
We will wake up very early with the sound of the Titi dark monkeys to prepare our suitcases and to enjoy the last breakfast. We will board our boat that will take us back to the port of Atalaya, in the course we will have the last opportunity to see wildlife in the river including Capybaras, eagles, herons, vultures of the jungle and many other birds that are fishing in the water.
We start our journey back to Cusco from Atalaya, where we expect surprises and a chance of spotting more things during our return to Cusco arriving there at about 6 or 7 pm to our respective hotels.
