Itinerary at a Glance

Day 1: Transfer to hotel.

Upon your arrival at Cusco airport, transfer to the hotel and free time to acclimatize to the altitude.

Day 2: San Pedro Market & City tour.

Visit to San Pedro Market in the moorning

At 13:00 hours city tour, visiting sights such as the Cathedral, the Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha), Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay.

Day 3: Sacred Valley of the Incas and trip to Aguas Calientes

Full day excursion to the Sacred Valley, visiting places like Pisac, Ollantaytambo and lunch in Urubamba. Travel by train to Aguas Calientes.

Day 4: Visit Machu Picchu and return to Cusco.

Early in the morning travel by bus to Machu Picchu and guided visit of Machu Picchu.

Return to the village for lunch, not included, and return trip to Cusco at the end of the day.

Day 5: Salt Mine at Maras and Moray tour.

Visit to the ancient terraced salt pans of Maras de Salineiras and the archaeological complex of Moray, which served as an Inca agricultural laboratory.

Day 6: Free day and departure

Free day for your last activities, shopping or exploring more of Cusco.

Transfer to the airport for departure two hours before your flight.

Full Itinerary

Day 1Arrival to Cusco and Transfer to your Hotel

At the given time of your arrival, our representatives will be at the airport in Cusco, waiting to transfer you to the hotel and help you to check in and provide you with the necessary information about restaurants, currency exchange, etc. After this,  you have the morning free to acclimatize.

Day 2 City Tour in the Afternoon

In the afternoon at 13:00 hours, we will start the archaeological City Tour of Cusco, in this tour we will visit the Cathedral of Cusco,  it houses a large collection of architectural works of Spanish Baroque style.

Then, we will visit the Temple of Coricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun, where the Spaniards built the Church of Santo Domingo over one of the most important Inca Sacred enclosures.

After this, we’ll leave the city to go to four archaeological sites, such as Sacsayhuaman, where the Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun) the most popular celebration of Cusco, is recreated every June 24th, then we will visit Qenqo, Tambomachay, and Pukapukara (famous Inca Baths).

The tour ends at approximately 6:30 pm.

Day 3Sacred Valley, Train to Aguas Calientes town.

At 08:00 h in the morning, is the departure from Cusco to Ollantaytambo, we´ll go along the famous Vilcanota River, better known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. On the way, we will stop to have explanations from our guide about the Inca sites and to observe the landscape.

The first archaeological site to visit is Pisac, with its huge Inca terraces for agriculture, the extensive constructions over the valley such as temples, houses, altars, etc., and then we go ahead to the traditional market (only on market days), there you will have some free time to interact with local artisans, or to buy handmade souvenirs and handycraft in general.

Then we continue to the Inkary Museum, where you will learn about the amazing history of the most important cultures of Peru, here you can appreciate life-size models and mannequins of pre-Inca cultures such as: Caral, Chavin, Paracas, Nazca, Mochica, Lambayeque and Chimu. We visit this Inkary museun just with private gropus, but in shared service we go directly to Urubamba for lunch.

After lunch, we head to Ollantaytambo, well known as the Museum town , the Inca city with remarkable canals, stone streets, where the Inca architecture is still preserved. We visit the incredible temples with huge blocks.

Finally, at the given time, according to the train ticket schedule, we approach to the train station for the check in to travel from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes for about 2 hours, where you will be transferred to your hotel, and enjoy a delicious dinner at a tourist restaurant, and then prepare for the visit to Machu Picchu next day.

Day 4Visit to Machu Picchu & return to Cusco

This is the most important day, your visit to Machu Picchu, one of the Wonders of the World!

We encourage you to get up early to board one of the first buses to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. Once we arrive to the Inca site of Machu Picchu, there you will have about two hours of guidance , during the explanation you will visit the viewpoint, the Intihuatana located at the top of the citadel, the temple of the sun, the temple of the condor, and other important sectors.

After this, you will have some free time to explore the rest of the citadel on your own. At the recommended time you will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included) and board the train back to Ollantaytambo, here there will be a bus waiting to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco City

Day 5Maras Moray, Salineras and Weaving Process in Chinchero

Around 8:00 am after breakfast, we start our tour to Salineras, where salt has been extracted since Inca times as a means of economic exchange, people still exploit this.

Then, we continue to the Archaeological Center of Moray, where we can see the magnificent Inca agricultural laboratory, composed of three groups of circular terraces (muyus in Quechua) that descend 490 feet (150 meters) from the highest terrace to the lowest. We will also visit the town of Maras. During the colonial times it had its importance because of the large Jesuit community was installed there, here you’ll appreciate carved wooden doors that belonged to the priests.

Finally, we’ll visit the weaver’s village of Chinchero, to appreciate some Inca terraces, used for the cultivation of potatoes, a colonial church over the Inca palace, and we will visit a Textile Center called Tupay where they will explain you about the Andean Weaving Process.

At around 2 pm we return to the city of Cusco, where you will be transferred to your hotel.

Day 6Departure Transfer

The team will be at the hotel two hours before the departure of the flight to take you from the hotel to the airport, to go back to Lima.
